The Electrical Standard Final Ruling, published 2/14/2007, had a 180 day implementation time. As of August 13, 2007, employers were to have trained their employees on the changes.
Three of the Top 10 Most Frequently Cited Workplace Safety Violations in Indiana
are electrical in nature. This specific electrical safety and arc flash training is designed for three distinct groups of workers:
8-hour Qualified Worker/Train the Trainer course on the hazards of electricity and arc flash and the new OSHA electrical standard requirements.
4-hour training program for affected workers.*
4-hour training program for outreach trainers.
1-hour update training to 30-hour card holders.
*Training materials for affected workers will be provided in English and Spanish.
